We are organizing BANGS 2026, an autonomous theatre performance festival taking place October 1-4, 2026.
WE would like YOU to propose your own BANG! Fill out the open call form.
A BANG is a start of something new. It can be big or small. Come with something set in stone or with something you wish to experiment and try out. Think: poem and soup making, party dancing, band, long play, short play, spoken text on music, clown show on the street, drag in the gemeente office, or something completely different! Check out BANGS 2025 for inspiration.

you can organize your own location!
As organizers, we set up the website and concept, we help with finding a location, place your proposal into a fitting mix with other events, help with tech setup, and hold space during the events. We encourage you to be as autonomous as possible and lend a hand as much as you can.
Want to do something more risky?! Great! We can help think along and provide some advice. Legally and practically. Let us know in the open call form.
During BANGS everyone is a volunteer.
If you are proposing a ‘show’ you are there to perform but also help out with other things.
The festival is entirely donation based. We will ask every performer whether they prefer taking donations for themselves or to support the benefit – no judgment, no questions asked! This year, the money we will raise as a benefit will be sent to support mutual aid funds in Palestine and Lebanon.
To cover some costs like food/travel, we collect donations via Vokus (community dinners) and shows in the lead up to the festival. If you want to help raise funds for the festival (this year, we definitely need help!), please write us an email (you find the email on the contact page).
