ACCESSIBILITY DURING BANGS
Important Note: This page may be updated, and we will clearly write here the date of the last update.
Amsterdam BANGS Festival is run by a very small team of volunteers. Within our capacity we strive to make our spaces and events as accessible as possible. While we realize that complete accessibility for everyone is an ideal and not always feasible, we are working to make BANGS as welcoming and accessible as possible to as many people as possible.
What to expect?
As soon as we have collected relevant information on each location and events’ accessibility or non-accessibility, we will upload them here. Important: the festival will take place around many different locations, all around Amsterdam, which means that we will face different accessibility issues, and for some of them we won’t be able to facilitate any extra support.
You can find below a list of what we are aiming to provide for BANGS 2026:
- Information on how to reach every location,
- An overview of the accessibility of the spaces in each location, ideally with pictures and a clear description of the space.
- A quiet room for volunteers, artists, and participants.
- A covid safer space agreement
- Masks, and desinfectant available at as many locations as possible
- Resources to create with everyone a more just and anti-ableist BANGING festival
If you are someone with a disability (or someone supporting someone with a disability) and you have any questions or accessibility needs that you would like to share or our help with, feel free to contact us. You can write to us an email at info@amsterdambangs.nl with “accessibility” in the subject line. Unfortunately, we do not yet have a phone number to publicly share on this website.
We hope to be able to communicate as well as we can about what we are able and not able to provide. Do know that we are a very small group of people.
Do you miss anything, do you have feedback or proposals?
We have created a working group for accessibility.
If you are down to join us, with whatever experience and capacity you have, or if you would like to share anything, please send us an email at info@amsterdambangs.nl.
