VOLUNTEER AT BANGS

BANGS IS AUTONOMOUS! &
ANYONE IS PART OF BANGS!

We hope to make this festival as horizontal and self-organised as possible. Because we wish to have as little hierarchy as possible between audience members, hosts, organisers and artists, ideally everybody will give some of their time in making this festival happen!

The roles during the festival are as follows:

Magic Shepherd

You guide the audiences to the right place and control those pesky crowds!

Mermaid

It’s like a barmaid but in the sea. (You do the bar.)

Trans Transportable

Be ready to help move stuff to and fro. You’re good with a bakfiets or even have a license!

Taste Buddy

Help skip food and cook for the festival participants!

Oracle

You are an info point in the heart of the festival!

Memory Catcher

You take pictures of the shows! (Former experience is great)

Tech Wiz

You know how performance tech works! At least the basics. You help do the magic!

Web Weaver

You help updating social media, radar.squat, and the website with the latest info and announcements!

Space Shifter

You build up and down, before and/or after the shows/workshops!

Space Wizard

You are in charge of everything in and around the space and help the magic flow and go. You talk to the artists before and during, to the people from the space, and to tech. You tell the crowd the story of what the festival is all about and are responsible for collecting donations. This is a special role that will have a special briefing! Good to do in a pair!

Awareness Lookouts

You are a lookout for people that might be in need physically, emotionally, mentally. You are available to people, can help out, be ready to diffuse a situation if needed and take care of yourselves, too. If you have experience, let us know.

Volunteer Call
Needed to share some early infos before the festival!
We like to add everyone from the festival to a single group chat for coordination.
So we can be more mindful when assigning tasks. We will get in touch with you to work with you on this. Specify if you prefer a phone call, a text, or email?
Like, do you prefer not being around noises, or lots of people, or flashing lights, etc.
We can mobilise our network here a little bit, if necessary 🙂 Please specify when and what your needs are.
think slap stick, ehbo, car, sound/light system, awareness, super strength, media, police speaking, camera, legal etc…) It might be handy to know if we end up facing specific needs! We will need to move things around, have parties and maybe actions, and likely we will need help with technology. If you know people in your network willing to help out in any way, if just to lend some things, that would also be great to mention!
If yes, please tell us: is it accessible for wheel chairs, is it a private room or a dormitory, how many persons, sleeping bag, etc..
