Rest is a protest and a promise. It is a protest because it disrupts the urge of productivity and thereby challenges many systems of oppression (such as capitalism, white supremacy or ableism). It is a promise because it can sustain our social and political struggles. Rest allows us to experiment with other ways of living collectively. In this participatory workshop, we will experiment with rest – with what we think it is, what it means, what it could be(come), how it is practiced etc.
Come rest collectively, whatever resting means to you: napping, dancing, singing, reading, eating, talking, looking, listening… Let’s reimagine together what it means to rest in an anticapitalist way.
