In Lithuanian pagan culture, the summer solstice -the longest day of the year – holds profound significance, especially in relation to feminine and otherworldly themes. As an artist, Guoda Keršytė explored this cultural heritage and how the sun can move and alter one’s perspectives of nature and feminine beauty. Human Observer experimented through various types of live sonic interactive layers as well as infused themselves into the ritual with different types of microphone manipulations including live organisms as well as Lithuanian field recordings. Through a ritual arts performance they aimed to capture the transformative power of the sun as it interacts with the natural world, revealing hidden dimensions and altering our viewpoints. This exploration involved a synthesis of traditional Lithuanian pagan motifs with contemporary artistic techniques, creating a bridge between the ancient and the modern. By focusing on the sun’s role in shaping our understanding of beauty and the mystical.
