After you have already had a BANGING afternoon in Oost, come for dinner at Plantage Dok. This event is a collaboration of BANGS and LOKAAL.

Food is from 18:30. Shows will start to seep in as you are eating and continue into chaos and magic through the evening.

Donations at the door (from 0-15) will go to LOKAAL — a collective that is setting up alternative, experimental evenings of music and performance in Plantage Dok.

There will be a QR code and hat for donations for BANGS’ mutual aids for Palestine and Kashmir.

Autonomy/Anatomy is a queer feminist reflection on bodily autonomy and the control of how you are perceived. It explores who holds power over the body and how it’s seen—sitting in the tension between self-determination and the external gaze. The work comes from my own experiences with dysphoria as a queer person with breasts, and from times in life when having a “female” body brought danger and discomfort. Through spoken word and costume, this performance reclaims narrative and visibility on my own terms.

‘always in some kind of trouble’ is a new experimental opera based on the iconic 1977 queer novel ‘The Faggots & Their Friends Between Revolutions’ by Larry Mitchell.

this sonic fable in three acts is a collective work in progress that will be premiering at Bangs 2025 (autonomous theater festival in Amsterdam) as an ode from present to past queers :
“let’s drink to the old faggots who were there and helped make this happen just by being there”

LAST SALT – multidisciplinary concert – 60 minutes

A French collective blending vocals, electronics, and acoustic sounds. With an unusual line-up of bass clarinet, double bass, piano/synth, voice and mouvement, they blend acoustic and electronic worlds in unexpected ways. Balancing traditional melodies with experimental textures, using acoustic depth with electronic spatialization, they shape an immersive soundscapes where composition and improvisation flow as one.

Gossip is so often written off as petty- as idle talk. But that dismissal ignores how gossip can reflect and at times reveal realities coded in the riddles of language. What does language blur? Where does speculation take over? When does truth begin? And who decides what’s worth believing?
Materials: bathroom door with engraved inscriptions
Visitors are invited to leave a piece of gossip on the toilet paper and place it in the bin.
